Wet dust collector can effectively remove liquid or solid particles with a diameter of 0.1-20 microns from the gas stream, and at the same time, it can also remove some gaseous pollutants. It has the advantages of simple structure, small footprint, easy operation and maintenance, and high purification efficiency. It can handle high temperature and high humidity airflow, and minimize the possibility of fire and explosion. However, special attention should be paid to the corrosion of equipment and pipelines and the treatment of sewage and sludge when using wet dust collector. The wet de-dusting process is also not conducive to the recovery of by-products. If the equipment is installed indoors, the possibility of freezing in winter must also be considered. Furthermore, if the removal of fine particles is also more efficient, the liquid phase needs to be better dispersed, but the energy consumption increases.
The dust collector has a high efficiency in removing dust with a particle size of less than 5 μm and has a service life of 5 to 8 years. The dust collector has a compact structure, occupies little space and consumes little water, with a floor space of about 4 square meters for handling 5-7 cubic meters of dusty airflow per second, and consumes about 1 ton/hour of water.
