The process of pellet rotary kiln mainly includes the following steps:
Raw Material Preparation: Pellet production typically utilizes raw materials such as iron ore powder, coal dust, limestone and bentonite, which are accurately proportioned and mixed to achieve the desired composition.
Pelletizing: The mixture is fed into ball making pans or barrels to form small pellets, these pellets are then transferred to the chain grate rotary kiln for heat treatment.
Chain grate drying and preheating: Qualified raw balls are evenly spread over the grate bed through the fabric roller screen, and with the movement of the grate bed, they pass through the drying section, drying section, and preheating section of the chain grate in turn.
Rotary kiln roasting and solidification: The preheated raw ball enters the rotary kiln for roasting and solidification through the lowering chute. Inside the rotary kiln, the two processes of roasting and equalizing heat are carried out.
Cooling by ring cooler: After roasting, the finished balls enter the ring cooler for cooling. The center diameter of the ring cooler is Φ12.5m, the width of the cart is 1.8m, the effective cooling area is 50m², and the ring cooler is equipped with three cooling fans.
Finished product processing: the finished pellets after cooling of the production line are sent to the finished product warehouse through the finished product belt conveyor . The finished product warehouse is equipped with two ore bins with gates under the bins, one of which is directly discharging to the main belt of the blast furnace charging, and the other is specialized in discharging the landed pelletized ores.
In the pellet rotary kiln process, the rotary kiln high temperature roasting is the most important part, determining the performance and yield of the pellet ore. In addition, there are some technical difficulties in the process of pellet chain grate rotary kiln, such as the mixing ratio in the ball-making process, the grasp of humidity and temperature, and the control of pellet size. In order to solve these difficulties, the actual operation requires reasonable arrangement of personnel and equipment, and meticulous process control and quality monitoring.
