Annealing for relieving internal stress

Improve machinability annealing
The surface layer of gray cast iron and some thin sections, due to the faster cooling rate, may produce white cracks, hardness increase, machining difficulties. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the hardness of annealing, the process according to the casting wall thickness and cooling method according to the performance requirements, if mainly in order to improve the machinability, can use furnace cooling or 30~50℃/h speed slow cooling if you need to improve the wear resistance of the casting, the use of air cooling, can get pearlite as the main matrix of gray cast iron.
Surface hardening
The purpose of surface hardening is to improve the surface hardness and wear resistance of gray cast iron. In addition to induction heating surface hardening, contact resistance can also be used to heat surface hardening of cast iron.
